The Importance of Making Memories

When was the last time you hung out with your family, made some memories together, and freely expressed how much you loved them?

It’s easy to find excuses to not be together because you think you’re too busy. But, making the decision to find quality time to be together will be the most important part of your day.

Family is especially important to me. How about you?

I was blessed with two incredible, hard working parents who were my greatest

Cheerleaders!  As an only girl in my family, having three brothers made my life rich, because I always felt protected.

My father worked long hours to provide for us. And until I was 15 years old I really didn’t know him. I remember actually being afraid of him, because he was a very loud and outspoken man.

I was lucky enough to get to know the real person, who was my unforgettable, loving dad, as I became a farmer’s daughter. Our entire family left city life behind us and became Arizona farmers.

It was a tough life, but it taught me the value of achieving goals, being persistent, and how the value of hard work can help you become a successful adult.

Making a living is something we do to survive. But, making room to create memories with your children is imperative to the success of being a family.

Teach your children that a family who truly understands the meaning of love, will know how to better love others.

The days of your life passes much too quickly, so take advantage of the here and now and feel the love of making summer memories.

If you can’t visit in person, make that important phone call, skype or Facetime connection.

Put the time on your calendar and commit for a meet up to have lunch. Enjoy yourself and have fun.

Drop your anxieties of the work world and give some part of your day to the ones you love.

Stop being too busy. We think we have all the time in the world, and we really never know how much time we’ve lost, until our time is up.

Your loved ones should be treasured. Remember that, and reach out. Take time for a deep conversation and to laugh long and hard together.

Make some memories and have a happy, fulfilling summer!

Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast – you also miss the sense of where you are going and why. — Eddie Cantor
